What do I do?

a globeI became a Christian nearly 50 years ago. The world has changed a lot since then. My life has changed a lot too.

Then again maybe not.

Even if you’re younger in the Lord, see if you agree.

When we first come to know Christ we somehow receive the message that life will be rosy. But our days didn’t become instantly trouble free. They’re still not.

We begin to get to know the Father’s love with some awareness of its power. But bouts of unrest disrupt the connection. They still cause interference.

Finding ways to reach out in His Name becomes a highlight of our lives. But the efforts drain our energy and focus. They still weaken.

At the outset the reality of our salvation brings joy unspeakable. But routine, interruptions, and crises conspire to divert our attention. They still distract.

Our original assignment was to know God, to trust God, to glorify God, to enjoy God. Click To TweetThe circumstances around us may appear to have changed. But the world is still fallen.

Events may threaten to undo us, uncertainty or fear may cause us to tremble. But the assignment is still the same.

Let us pursue the challenge to know God, to trust God, to glorify God, to enjoy God. He is our only secure reference point.
