Bless the LORD, O my soul.
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul
And forget none of His benefits. Psalm 103:1,2

The direction is given twice, Bless the LORD, O my soul. Repetition underscores the importance of any statement, especially in Scripture. My eyes paused and reread the verses. I had to admit that while I had a good idea what it meant for God to bless me, I wasn’t sure what the reverse looked like. How about you?

It makes no sense to try to

  • meet God’s needs because He doesn’t have any.
  • offer God emotional or spiritual support since we rarely have enough ourselves.
  • satisfy God with  a gift when all good gifts come from Him to begin with.

Looking deeper at how God blesses us, clues appear.

  • The LORD invites us into His presence through Christ, and grants us His undivided attention.
  • He shares Himself with us and calls us into an intimate relationship.
  • He delights in us and sings over us as He loves and cherishes us in word and deed.
  • He designs a purpose for each of us and places our feet on high places.

How can we bless Him in return?

  • We set aside undistracted time with him as a priority to get to know Him better.
  • We sharet the deep parts of ourselves and welcome His healing, warnings, and encouragement.
  • We set Him above all others as we  exalt  His Name with our grateful praises.
  • We exercise our love for Him in obedience and service as He equips and leads.

This is divine relationship, the LORD’s blessing platform.

God be gracious to us and bless us,
And cause His face to shine upon us—Selah. Psalm 67:1

What first step can you take to build your blessing platform?
When will you take it?

Let me know so I can pray with and for you.

  1. It’s hard sometimes to do what God wants us to. We are all creatures of habit and we all have our comfort zones. That’s where our FAITH comes in. So pray and read God’s word so we will know his voice. God bless you. I’ll keep you in my prayers .God is using you to his Glory
