Vision is my 2020 focus word, and Year of Vision is our blog theme. Last week To Know was outlined as a foundational step in understanding our unique, God-given design at What Would Make a Year of Vision Soar? Today, To Go is described as the way to transform from bystander to participant in His divine purpose.
To Go
Abide – There’s only one way I’m going to be able to maintain my pursuit to correct and clarify my vision in the coming months. That’s to continually remain in God’s presence and under His direction with full-on, two-way communication. No holding back.
Surrender – Ideas are already popping up in my brain, but experience tells me to check their source before I lay hold of them. Human thoughts easily become human goals to be sustained by human energy. The core of Year of Vision is God’s will, not mine. Time to let go.
Pause – Rushing headlong in any direction without a plan to measure and monitor progress can lead to disaster. Shifts in circumstances, motivation, or goals can undermine the best efforts. Verifying the mission and process in light of God’s leads to glorifying results.
Divert daily, Withdraw weekly, Abandon annually to clarify our position before God and make course adjustments. Share on XThese To Know and To Go activities call for intentional godly living. Maybe you can perform them to a tee, but unless my Abba, Shepherd, and HS carry me, I’m simply not going to get there. That’s why I’m thankful that God empowers us by His grace to grow a deeper faith. Hallelujah.
While we all walk across the coming days, let’s snuggle up to God by wrapping ourselves in His Word and get to know each other well.

Love your perspective, Sandra. My word is “intentional” and one way I want to be more intentional is in using my (God’s) time wisely. One step I made was purchasing Susie May Warren’s planner — and it’s been a tremendous help learning how to plan out my writing time for the week. It’s a small but intentional step in the right direction. Praying 2020 is one of your best – most productive – and most God-glorifying years to date, my friend.

I’ve always struggled with patience, especially when it comes to getting direction for God and “getting to it.” He’s growing me through that exact weakness as I concentrate on giving the early parts of my day to Him and hold the other stuff at bay.
