Do you ever stop to think about what you think about? What occupies your mind?

I’m indebted to a woman named Ann* who called to share about blessings the Lord was providing for herself and her children. Not to be outdone, I poured out His provision for me. What unfolded was an hour of praising God for His intervention in our lives and the lives of those we love.

We spoke of the awe we felt at how powerful and intimate His hand is.

Powerful because He moves mountains no matter what they’re made of—confusion, sickness, fear, opposition, responsibilities, bureaucracy. He steps in to meet every need—food, clothes, housing, appliances, finances, encouragement, wisdom, peace, courage, guidance. His Word tells us there’s nothing He can’t or won’t supply to those who belong to Him.

As we considered the world around us, we agreed with the words of Habakkuk 3:19**

The Lord God is my strength,
And He has made my feet like hinds’ feet,
And makes me walk on my high places.

Intimate because He made us and knows how we think and feel, what we’ve been through, our joys and trials as well as what we face. The Father reaches into the lives, minds, and hearts of His children with the exact touch each one needs. Food on the table or gas for the car in one household. Healing from past hurts for one woman, safety from aggression for another, a new dress for a third. All delivered in the recipient’s soul language as a reminder of His loving presence.

At the close of our conversation, we lifted mighty praises along with the author of Psalm 20:7.

Some boast in chariots and some in horses,
But we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God.

Where are your mind and heart perching these days?
Is there someone you can stir up with praises to our Risen King?

with delight in the hands of the LORD,
